Easy Ways To Boost Your Creativity Throughout The Day

creativity

Creativity is a great trait to have in many different walks of life. It can have a positive impact on your work life by helping you to come up with excellent ideas that are going to enable the business you work for to thrive against its competitors and it can aid your personal life by helping you to be more social and interactive with the people around you.

We are all creative to one extreme or another but it’s not something that you are merely born with and then are stuck with. The environment around you can have a great impact on how creative you are as a person and there are many ways in which you can increase the level of this throughout the day.

Whether you are the owner of a multi-national corporation or a free-lance writer working from home; an increase in creativity can be very useful indeed, and so here are some great ways to do just that.

Go For A Walk –

As I said before, the environment around us has a big impact on our ability to be creative. Therefore, the more familiar we become with this the less of an effect it has on us and things start to stagnate. If you feel you are bereft of creativity then try taking a walk outside of your usual surroundings. Explore parts of the area that you have never been to before and give your brain the chance to encounter some new scenery. You’ll be amazed at how much this will clear your head and leave you feeling refreshed.

Eat Right –

It’s strange to consider that the food we eat can have an impact on our ability to think creatively but, for a variety of different reasons, it can. Antioxidants such as citrus fruits, broccoli and dark chocolate help to keep our immune system in check which means we are more likely to feel 100%, fatty acids found in foods like walnuts and olive oil help to improve brain function which in turn promotes problem solving abilities and creative thinking and finally, complex carbohydrates such as brown rice and oats help to release energy throughout the day and keep us going for longer.

Vary Your Day –

If you find that you carry out a certain kind of task a lot throughout the day then it can help to split this up so that you don’t become jaded by repetitive work. For example, if you know that you have to write twenty similar reports to different clients then you should structure your day in a way that breaks them up. You could do five and switch to something else before doing five more and so on. This will mean that your brain doesn’t get tired of doing the same thing and you will be more able to think and act creatively on all of your tasks.

Use Music As Your Muse –

Music has the power to supercharge your creativity and give you the burst of energy needed to carry out your ideas. Just a quick blast of one of your favourite tunes will send happy signals to your brain, helping you to relax and be in a better frame of mind to think creatively. The combination of lyrics and melody will provide great inspiration for you to think about some excellent ideas of your own.

Train Your Brain –

The brain is a muscle and therefore it can be improved by exercise in the same way that you train your other muscles at the gym. There are many creativity training courses available, such as these, which will teach you how to access certain areas of your brain which are linked to creative thinking and how to produce great ideas because of this. These courses not only act as excellent team building exercises but will also help you to understand more about what it means to be creative.
